Nichelle Cole is the Executive Director at Nash Edgecombe Wilson Community Action, Inc. She started her career with NEW, Inc. as the Head Start Director before assuming the principal role. Like pieces to a puzzle, the position at the helm of the agency brings together varied sections of professional and academic development yielding just the right fit, at just the right time. Years of training, passion for making a positive impact, and, most importantly, preparation to serve families and children merge into the present opportunity. Today her intentional efforts governed by thoughtful leadership come together to enhance the lives of children, families, and communities served by NEW, Inc.
Nichelle Cole graduated from North Carolina Central University in Durham, North Carolina with a Bachelor of Arts in History before continuing on to earn a Master of Public Administration. She has also completed the Head Start Management Fellows Program at the University of California, Los Angeles. To this postgraduate education, she adds professional development enrichment including Wipfli Nonprofit Training, National Head Start Manager and Directors Academy, and National Certified Results Oriented Management and Accountability (ROMA). Nichelle Cole’s commitment to the career chosen is demonstrated in the ongoing efforts to remain on the cutting edge of the industry and reflected in the strategic efforts to propel NEW, Inc forward.
Nichelle’s commitment to service is rivaled by a few things, but chief among them is a dedication to family, loyalty to friends, and being a devoted Auntie. She enjoys music, watching reruns of her favorite TV shows, and cheering on her beloved NCCU Eagles and Dallas Cowboys.
